I recently graduated from the University of Calfironia, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Sociology. I left with strong interests in critical theory, social theory, gender studies, and expanded my mind in socio-political topics of all sorts. I also left with an education lacking in many areas—areas which I begin now to explore and develop.
There are many factors that have led to my decision to begin an adventure in Latin America. They can be perceived and interpreted in a wide variety of ways and colors; free spirit, curious intellectual, dedicated social activist, irresponsible youth, and of course a deep fear of aging and the passing of a life not lived. We’ll leave the debate of motivations for uncertain adventures to the psychoanalysts and just say that I am prepared for a mentally challenging year of many tribulations and a year of unforgettable beauty, reflection, pleasure, and growth.
This blog serves to share with friends, family, Professors, co-workers, and all those I have been fortunate enough to have in my life thus far a bit of my experience in Ecuador. I hope it serves well to update you all and give you a glimpse into my life in South America.
If you ever want to get in contact with me, please e-mail me at jennymargalit@gmail.com, although I will not be checking and responding to e-mails often, I will get back to you. Thank you for everyone’s support.

Hi: I arrived here on a bit of a bounce. I just received the following Email from my wife who is a high school teacher in Temecula, California.
Hi honey,
This is Frau Seneor’s daughter’s blog who recently moved to Ecuador. It’s using WordPress and is a very interesting read, not to mention the pictures.
I recently opened a new site http://www.latinamericanletters.com, that utilizes WordPress. I didn’t get far before I took a fall and broke my right hip and knee. I am getting back on my feet, but can’t seem to get WordPress to behave the way that I want it to.
What you have here looks good.
Ron
Hi Jenny!
I’m glad to know that you’re more than well during your time in Ecaudor. I hope that you continue to enjoy yourself and that this experience provides you with a great deal of growth and wisdom. I had Zion on August 25th. If you’re ever on fb you can see pics. Talk to you soon!
